As a school counselor, you play a vital role in your students’ successes in school and in life. This section of the Gateway contains a number of resources as you guide your students through career and education planning.
Providing career awareness, exploration and planning activities is an important part of your occupation. One important aspect of career planning is for kids to be able to make the connection between school and the world of work. Kids may ask, “Why am I doing this?” If they have more of an understanding for the way school is connected to their future, they will be more engaged and less likely to tune out to what is going on in their classroom.
